Cafe booths

A cafe booth is where a coffee turns into a conversation, so the seat and the back matter more than the table. 17 are listed here, from plain and channel backs to wood-base and wood-leg styles. Choose the back for the length of the stay, then the length for the wall.

Reading the range

Prices run from $198 to $979. The lower listings are padded booths with plain, channel, V-shape or button tufted backs. The higher ones add wood bases, wood legs and, in a few cases, a jumbo seat, arms or a privacy back. All 17 are listed at standard seat height, and 14 of them let you choose the upholstery.

Two listings are sold as sets of two single booths, so a quantity of one means two booths. Check the unit on the page before you set a quantity. The eight-piece minimum for tables and chairs does not apply to booths, so one booth can be ordered by itself. The price shown is for the options you choose, and freight is quoted after the order is read. Booths travel palletized by LTL freight, and moving them inside is the buyer's job, so measure the door as well as the wall.

Backs and the length of a stay

Five of the listings are plain in style, such as the plain booth, and others add channels, tufting or a V-shape to the back. Channel counts run to 3, 6 and 12. Padding is listed on every back and seat, so the question is how the back looks from across the room, not whether it is soft.

Draw the run to scale before you order, with 36 inches of aisle left in front of it. Because each booth is made to order, confirm the dimensions and the upholstery before the order is read. Production cannot be amended.

The table that meets the booth
