Wood restaurant chairs

Every chair in this range has a wood frame, so the real choices are the seat, the back and the stain. The 95 chairs come with vinyl, fabric or wood seats and with backs that run from slat to padded to bentwood. Start with the seat, then hold the back against the table you own.

The seat is the choice

A wood frame leaves the seat to decide how the chair is cleaned and how it sounds in a full room. Vinyl seats are offered on 93 of the 95 chairs, fabric on 81 and wood on 66, and 87 list upholstery options. Vinyl wipes down between seatings. Fabric earns its keep where quiet matters more than the turn. A wood seat keeps the whole chair one material.

Stain and covering are separate choices, so changing either one makes a new line in the order. Because color lists change, send for a current swatch and hold it to the chairs already on your floor before you reorder.

Backs, from slat to padded

Upholstered backs lead with 27 chairs, followed by curved backs with 16, vertical slat and square back with 9 each, slat back with 7 and bentwood with 6. A padded back is listed on 29. From the host stand, a row of backs is the first thing a party sees. Slats give the room a rhythm, a curve softens a long wall, and padding gives a guest something to lean on.

Fit, arms and where it lives

Seat heights are stated on only a few chairs: 18 inches on 3, 19 3/4 inches on 2, and 18 7/8, 17 3/4 and 19 inches on one each. Read the product page for the rest. As one reference point, a wood dining chair with a vertical slat back measures 17" W x 19 1/2" D x 36" H, offers solid wood, padded vinyl or padded fabric seats, and lists BIFMA certification.

Arms appear on 24 chairs and ask for more room at the table than a side chair does; compare them on the arm chairs page. Only 1 chair stacks, so storage is a floor question.

Indoor use is listed for 99 of the chairs. Wood frames and upholstered seats made for indoors fade, swell or rust outside, and that exposure is outside the warranty. Prices range from $44 to $306.
