Channel-back booths

A channel back divides the cushion into vertical padded bands, and the count of bands changes how the booth looks from across the room. 8 are listed here, from 3 channels to 12, with horizontal, 4 channel and panel versions. Choose the count for the room, then the cover, then the base.

Counting the channels

The listings run 3, 6 and 12 channels, with a second 12-channel booth on metal legs, a horizontal 3-channel back, a wood booth with an upholstered 4-channel back and another with a 2-panel back. Two more are a wood-base booth and a laminate booth, each with a padded back. Prices range from $198 to $586.

Fewer channels make broad bands, and twelve make a fine ribbed surface. The count also decides how much of the cover you see in one piece, so hold a swatch against a wall before you commit.

Frame, base and cover

The 3-, 6- and 12-channel booths list the same four base choices: metal legs, wood legs, a reclaimed-style laminate or the black kick base. The three wood-frame versions offer 11 frame finishes. Every listing lets you choose the upholstery, and the 3-channel back lets the center channel take a different cover from the sides, in fabric or vinyl.

Heights are 36, 42 and 48 inches on most listings, with 42 the standard, and two wood-frame versions list 42 and 48. Lengths run from 24 to 72 inches on most, in Single, Double, Deuce Single and Deuce Double. A power package with outlets and USB is an option on the 3-, 6- and 12-channel booths.

Measure, swatch, then order

Booths are built to order from the options listed. Measure the wall, confirm the dimensions and the upholstery, and send the order. Once production starts nothing can be changed, and the eight-piece minimum for tables and chairs leaves booths out, so one booth can be ordered alone. Request swatches of fabric and vinyl before you choose. They ship by UPS Ground, and a confirmation follows by email within one business day.

A long run may be delivered in several loads. At the dock, tally the pallets first and the cartons second against the bill of lading, write any damage on that form before you sign, and hold on to any damaged packing until the carrier has closed the claim.
