Resin table tops

Resin tops come in finishes that read as stone, marble or wood. 24 are listed here in rectangular, square and round shapes, and 15 are listed for patio use. Settle the thickness and the size first, then the base that will carry the top, then the finish that suits the room.

Three thicknesses, many finishes

Resin tops here come in three thicknesses: 1/2 inch with a phenolic edge, 1 1/8 inches, and 2 inches. The 1/2-inch tops are the outdoor ones, and the 1 1/8-inch tops include both indoor and outdoor listings. Finishes cover stone looks such as Concrete Grey, Soft Grain Stone and Terrazzo Pietra, marbles in light and black, and wood looks in oak, walnut, mahogany, cherry and reclaimed.

Prices range from $72 to $97. Rectangular, square and round shapes each appear on 16 listings, and sizes start at 24 inches round or 24 by 24 inches. For a two-top, 24 by 24 inches is the floor and 30 by 30 gives plates room, while 36 by 36 seats four in comfort. Because a line in the order is one configuration, a 30-inch round and a 30 by 30 square count as two lines.

Which tops can go outside

Fifteen of the 24 are listed for patio use. The other nine are for the dining room. The pieces that belong outdoors are the ones listed for patio use, and even they need a rinse, drainage, and shelter when the season ends. Several of the patio tops offer an optional umbrella hole, which should be decided when the order is written.

Indoor furniture used outdoors is not covered by the warranty. Check the usage line on the page for the top you are buying, and match it to a base that is listed for the same use. The outdoor table bases are the place to start.

Pairing the top with a base

A resin top over a round base wants a spread of two thirds of its diameter, and over a square footing the base should reach toward the corners. Choose among round table bases and X-prong table bases by the shape of the top.
